NOT FINISHED!!

Here is a tester for our stop motion. We used a bottle to demonstrate and test how stop motion works and we did this by taking a picture after every time we moved the bottle. From doing this we have discovered that this project will take a lot of time and patience. This tester was made up of 46 photos and it was only six seconds long , this means we will have to take thousands of photos to reach our 2 minute target. As we were making this we didn't see any problems until we edited it all together and watched it and spotted the mistakes. We also asked people to give us their opinions, the following points are what was wrong with our tester;

* The lighting changed in each picture due to the fact we were taking the pictures in a room with flicker lights.

Typography Questionnaire.

From all of the above please tick the box for which font you think would be best suited for the title of our film ‘Struck By Rain’ and also in box explain your reason for why it is your favourite including the why the font suits the film genre and storyline…

The above is a questionnaire for me to print out and hand out to people to pick their favorite font for our title and we will then pick the most chosen and use it for our title.

Costume hair and make-up act as and instant indicator of a character's personality, status & job.

Facial expressions provide a clear indicator of how someone is feeling. A close up camera shot would make the facial expression the most important aspect of the scene, it highlights the mood for the moment.

Lighting & colour can be used to achieve a variety of effects.

Low Key Lighting

*Created by using only the key & back lights.

High Key Lighting

*Movie filler lights are used.
*Lighting is natural and realistic to our eyes.

Actual Film Idea.

Our film is about a woman called Sarah Bailey (played by Idina Menzel) in her thirties, she had a tough time trying to pursue her dream of being on the West end and be famous for doing something she loved and has always loved from a young age. Until she stumbles across a newspaper article, saying that the close theatre is holding auditions to play the leading roll of Elphaba in the West End play 'Wicked'. She immediately sees this as her once in a life time chance to make it to the West End and she jumps at the opportunity and leaves no time in making the phone call to schedule her audition time.As the day comes for her to make her audition, she goes there with all confidence in herself. She sings her heart out hoping that this is it, that this is her chance, just to be told by the director Martin Smith (played by Hugh Janaro) that she isn't what they are looking for. She gets upset and runs out of the theatre, breaking down when she gets outside thinking that she will never get a chance like this again. She believes that she will never be good enough to get on the West End after this major let down. So she decides to give up trying. To make things worse for her it starts to heavily rain and she is drowned in wetness. She wishes her life away, and wishes she could live her life like a musical, hoping that it would end happy. As she is hailing for a cab she gets drenched by a passing car, which drove through a rather large puddle. Shortly after getting drenched she wishes that her life could be better and that she could live her West end dream. There is a struck of lightning above her in which her whole life begins to change...  She wakes up the next day not knowing that her life was any different so she carries on with her day as she would usually. Until she tries to leave her apartment door which she finds herself being attacked with questions...'how does it feel'...'do you think you'll be the next best thing in the West End'...'are you coping with all the shock'. She finally starts to question what is going on, she is very confused by this point and starts to realise that something in her life has changed on a large scale. She carries on with her day, trying to figure out what this change could possibly be. She gets some very strange and exited looks whilst she is doing her daily routines,she bumps into a handsome young man that she surprisingly recognises, he happens to be the director that was holding auditions for the part of Elphaba. She starts talking to him, starts getting to know him and eventually starts to fall for him. Still getting swarmed everyday with questions from people, and people asking for her signature. She starts to ask herself if this is the life she even wants to live. She gets bored of the fame, gets bored of the life that she is currently living and tries every way possibly to go back to how she use to be. Realising that she would lose everything, including Martin. She goes to work one day finally realising that this definitely is not the life that she wants. So she quits the theatre business and walks out. Only to find that when she gets outside it's a massive down pour of rain exactly like the day she got rejected from playing the part of Elphaba. She hails a cab, gets in and just breaks down. The cab driver recognises her, and asks for her autograph and she cries...' you cannot have my autograph i am just a normal girl with a normal life....i want my life back to the way it was. I WISH i was me again'. She goes home and just goes to bed, still wishing for her life to be normal. She wakes up the next day, no reporters. No posters of her around london. She goes to the theatre and finds Martin, she then asks him out on a date...

Warner Bros presentation

Warner bros

For this task the class was split up in to groups. Half of the class had to pitch a film. The rest had to research a production company in which we got given warner bros. The people that had pitched, also got told what production company they were pitching to, and the people that were pitching had to figure out what group was pitching one of their types of film.

This powerpoint shows our research on the Warner Bros Production Company;
  • In our presentation we needed to include:
* What types of films the company produce.
* It's most successful film and unsuccessful film.
* Who the current chairman was.
* Who the company was founded by.

Here are the first 36 shots of our Title sequence step by step for our Stop motion idea , this will probably only count as 5 seconds of our footage...

Mock up poster of "Struck By Rain"

Here is a Mock up poster for our film idea for "Struck By Rain" , Here we have started playing around with different types of fonts to see which will go better with our storyline. This typography used is "swirly Girl" taken from Dafont.

GROUNDHOG DAY DESIGN TASK.

The task that we got given is that we had to design a title sequence for a remake of the film 'Groundhog Day'. We used the characters , Hugh grant, Russell Brand and Emma Watson. For each character i have given them a different font to show their personality within the film. Emma Watson's font its delicate and romantic, this shows that she could possibly be the romantic type in the film and that someone's going to fall for her. For Russell Brand's font i have made it so it shows his childish but cool character. Lastly for Hugh Grant's font i have made it Big, Bold and it looks very formal and smart. For the pictures of the stars, i have made them look cartoon , missing out the facial features so it wouldn't  quite give away the stars identity but you can recognize who they are.
